Sing your hearts out for the lads

Day 89 since the end of last season, and tomorrow we head into a new campaign. It was hoped and envisaged that this summer we'd take the transfer market seriously, invest some of that huge wad of cash we have in the bank, and hit the ground running ready to mount a serious challenge on all fronts. It's needed, it was anticipated, and yet again it hasn't happened. We've been through the hopes, we've been through a huge increase of ITKs spouting shit about the players "100% signed" (and of course showing themselves up)... and despite this being a HUGE summer for the club, we've come up shorter than Ronnie Corbett kneeling down. In a ditch.

Tomorrow, Aston Villa arrive at Emirates and given all the crap that's been going on at The Arsenal this summer, they probably fancy their chances. I guarantee their fans do; a bigger mob of lairy visiting supporters you'll be hard-pressed to find. Many neutrals maybe fancy Villa too. However, I have one thing to say: we are THE ARSENAL.

This club has always reacted when apparently backed into a corner. It's always come out fighting when the chips are down. We sneer in the face of adversity and say "We're The Arsenal, who the fucking hell are you?!". This is one of those times, and it's time we stood together.

So if you're going to the game tomorrow, I ask this of you. Get 100% behind the team on the pitch. Cheer them, sing loudly and passionately. Show them that despite what's going on with the management of this club, your love of The Arsenal will always prevail.

I know the squad is balsa wood weak at the moment but last weekend's game against Man City showed that we have a starting eleven who can mix it with the big boys. The players we have now seem much more committed than in previous seasons, and we have some real quality in the team. I know we could really challenge if we spent some of that cash on top quality additions, but tomorrow is tomorrow and we need to let the players know how much we support them.

It's obvious that there is a lot of ill feeling towards the powers that be in Highbury House, and most of it is absolutely justified. I've never seen an Arsenal fanbase so divided, so full of anger, and if last season's fighting in the stands is anything to go by, the potential this time around is even worse. Whose fault is that? Those running our club. They have driven a wedge between supporters, they have created the situation we're in. But the players who take to the pitch have nothing to do with what goes on behind the scenes so that's why I ask that you give them your backing 100%. At the BSM we've always called for fans to get fully behind the team on the pitch and this is no different.

Your team needs YOU. Make some noise and let's get help the lads get three points.

"United, West Ham, Liverpool......"

Up The Gunners

Well said, I don't hear Red Action or the AST leading a war cry. I thought the BSM were the ones meant to be negative towards the club?

Have the others lost faith or do they need a bit more Paytience?

To be fair, REDaction are in with the club and can't do an awful lot against the board because otherwise they'll lose the ability to get the club to agree to certain things. That being said from what I've read the club are being obstinate and putting loads of red tape in the way of REDaction's plan they have of bringing loads of large flags for the sp*rs game.

I won't be at the match, I won't buy the new kit, or invest another penny until they show some respect for the fans they've lied to this summer. I was one of the 4,000 who stood to see the Leeds game in the 70s, I've supported the club through good and bad. But I've never known a time like this when the board have treated us with contempt. I hope they win tomorrow, I hope they get through the European play off. Maybe they need to lose the first leg to FORCE the board to spend in time for the return. I want the team to do well but I REFUSE to part with another penny until they stop taking the p*ss out of their loyal fans

I'm with you! I feel insulted that AW sits there with a straight face and tells us that they analysed every player in the world but none of them are right for Arsenal.. I would like them to tell us.. who are these "top, top, top players" AW wants.. they must really think we are all that stupid to believe whatever they tell us!

I feel tricked that they were telling us all summer and especially at the time season tickets came out that they can buy every player on the globe with a few exceptions... they said they will challenge next season and will spend big.. and now the same excuses of market being slow and having enough talent. If not for the sake of bringing in great players.. at least buy because you sold 17 players and brought in just 1!!! another kid... for free..

£40M+£1 that really sums up their seriousness and attitude towards the transfer market and how they run the club now.. its become a business no longer a football club.. in a club the members (fans) are the most important.. in a business the shareholders and money is.. look at what's happened in the last few years and its clear as daylight.. we are no longer a football club that makes money but a business that uses football to generate income..

The squad fought tooth and nail to get into the CL so we could attract top players. Now we're there, we've attracted no one. The squad is worse off now than it was in May this year.

Sorry Dirk.. I don't agree.. we attract a lot of players.. but when its time to agree personal times.. we end up embracing our wallets and other clubs end up embracing those players.. its the same story year in and out.. The greedy bastards at the top are more worried about getting a bigger cut for themselves than they are about giving a bigger paycheck to the players to attract top talent.. how can they not understand that the league has changed with foreign takeovers and investment!? Now when a player is offered a chance to play in the EPL.. they think they will get a HUGE paycheck if they sign for a top team.. But dont offer that.. so we lost Mata, Hazard, Vertonghen and so many others to clubs that offered them the money they wanted...

Not a massive fan of the BSM but I appreciate the call for unity. In all honesty, I think people need to relax and just enjoy tomorrow as its the return of The Arsenal, AKBs and WOBs alike

Totally agree its about the team(whats left of it) lets hope less injuries. And I can see a bigger divide between fans this year. Its up to the players now they need to start were they left off last year and fingers crossed. Up the Arsenal

Fair play to the BSM.

You don't see this type of logical and beneficial type of actions from the likes of the AST who are just an illeterate bunch of sociopaths.

Agree totally with the article and I will support the lads.

Loving the work of the BSM and bang on the money re: board, but don't think AW isn't complicit in all of this. You can't differentiate between the two.

A weird feeling this morning; first game was '79 and it's the first time since 1987 I haven't renewed my season ticket so won't be going today. Like Roy, I refuse to put in another penny and won't be doing so until there's a massive change of direction off the pitch and also enlightenment within some of our fanbase. There was an Arsenal before AW and the PL... and if you are going today, get behind the lads. Don't spend 90 minutes filming it on your poxy phone.

Bring David Dean back, in a way I'm glad we lost I think it's the only way the board will wake up and spend. The players we were supposed to of been buying were right not to come to us why come to a club who don't spend to strengthen the squad. The SCUM next door will be better and stronger unless we buy and buy BIG

Hasaan

Sadly we did not learn from the start of our 2011 season... or learned a lesson for one year and then forgot it.. now when we buy.. everyone would know we are desperate and would hike up the prices by £5M or so.. with all your money management Arsenal board.. you might end up spending more than you wanted in the first place..

Invade the pitch at the next home game .the Americans who own the club are milking arsenal for all they can get.if the supporters take anymore of this and do nothing we deserve to be mugged off. Invade the pitch.

Since the BSM has such a large following why don't they have people lead chants through a speaker on match days or on the way to the ground? I really want the Emirates to emulate Dortmund's stadium as they have a rocking atmosphere on match days. Also, why does the club ban large flags and such? This club is being run by anti-football bankers
