The Billboard
11 September 2011
You may have seen by now either in the press or on the web, that we hired a billboard opposite Emirates Stadium for two weeks, taking in the home game against Swansea City.
As you'll see from the picture on the right, we went with the message being rammed down our throats by the club this summer, but with a subtle twist - adding a question mark at the end. We felt that despite glaring weaknesses in the playing squad,
and given the price rises to already extortionate season tickets, was the club really demonstrating that it lived by the FORWARD motto?
As expected, the billboard created a lot of interest and stirred up a lot of discussion. Overall our aims were achieved, and those were to raise awareness of 'Where Has Our Arsenal Gone?' even further, and to reinforce to the Board of Arsenal that as a pressure group we're still keeping a keeneye on developments at the club.
We've said elsewhere that everything we do shares a common goal: to benefit Arsenal fans. This billboard is just another part of our overall campaign.
