Where Has Our Arsenal Gone (the Black Scarf Movement) launches official membership scheme
We’re pleased to announce that today, the pressure group ‘Where Has Our Arsenal Gone?’ launches an official membership scheme where Arsenal fans can become a part of the group.
Following our inception in late 2009, the group quickly became known among Arsenal fans. Within a short space of time, the popularity of ‘the BSM’ (as we became known) started to snowball among many Arsenal fans who either felt let down and uncared for by the club they love, or felt that there wasn’t a proper representation for them among other supporters’ groups. This growing popularity saw us invited by the club to meet with them, and we remain in contact to share our thoughts, ideas, and concerns at how our fans are treated.
So far our running costs and campaigns, including the "Let's kick greed out of football" banner and the "FORWARD?" billboard, have been met by a group of Arsenal fans donating their time and money to keep other Arsenal fans informed. As we grow, we need to continue to meet our running costs, and have the ability to fund future campaigns and events. It has been suggested by followers that a membership is necessary to help raise funds for these campaigns, hence our decision to offer official membership.
There are two levels of membership on offer:
Associate Membership (free of charge)
This is the basic membership of Where Has Our Arsenal Gone? If you join as an Associate Member you'll be entered onto our mailing list and will be the first to hear news and updates from the group.
Full Member (£7.50 a year, August to July)
With this level of membership, you get the same as an Associate Member but in addition, you will be entitled to attend our meetings, vote on key initiatives, take part in surveys, receive priority booking for special BSM social events, and you'll receive a unique BSM pin badge.
Details of the scheme and how to join can be found by clicking here. If you have any questions about membership or anything else, feel free to send us an e-mail at [email protected].
